Make your computer safe from web
sharks
Viruses,
trojans, worms, popups, spyware, malware, blah blah... Nobody wants them.
Yet, they are everywhere, waiting for our bad knowledge, ignorance, lazyness
and yes, even stupidity. According to the researchers, your newly bought unpatched
Windows PC connected to the internet will last for only about 20 minutes,
before it gets it's first malware, on average. If you're doubtful, read
this. An average "survival" time in 2003 was around 40 minutes.
In time, it is going to be even worse. You can have a patch/firewall/anti-virus
everything combo and it still won't fully protect you.
That's why there are people like Dr. Hannu Kari from Finland, who pinpoints
2006 as the end of the Internet as we know it. Read this article.
Before these apocaliptic predictions come true, we should try to make our
internet trails a bit less annoying and even dangerous. Let us see, for instance,
where our received spam does come
from.
All in all, where is a superhero, when you really need one?
There are some free programs which might reduce your annoyance. If you have any suggestions of how to better protect our computers, feel free to send an email to marian@libraradio.com
